Beijing Meteorological Station has issued a yellow warning signal for sandstorms as well as a blue warning signal for high winds. According to the Beijing Meteorological Bureau, the wind will strengthen in Beijing today with northerly winds of 4 to 5 with gusts of 7 to 8 and up to 8 to 10 in mountainous areas.

According to the news released by the CPC Central Meteorological Station, from March 28 to 29, there will be sandy or dusty weather in some areas of Xinjiang, Inner Mongolia, Gansu, Qinghai, Ningxia, Shaanxi, Shanxi, Beijing, Tianjin, Hebei, Shandong, Henan, Liaoning, Jilin, Heilongjiang, etc..

This is the second time this year that Beijing has been hit by a strong sandstorm. The first one happened on March 15 during the two sessions of the Chinese Communist Party, and was described by netizens as the most severe dust storm Beijing has seen in the past decade. In response to the dusty weather, Chinese netizens are asking why the Three Northern Protective Forests have not “stopped” the dust.
